A “Workshop for the World” – that is what the town of Solingen was with its cutlery production at the end of the 19th century. Even today, at the LVR-Industriemuseum Gesenkschmiede Hendrichs (Drop Forge) as it bangs and hisses you can still experience how the red glowing cropped pieces are forged to scissor blanks amidst a roaring noise. At the same time, you can learn about the fascinating history of the famous Solingen cutlery industry.
