For school classes the museum opens on request already at 9 am.

Machine demonstrations take place continuously during opening hours.

All venues of the LVR Industrial Museum will be closed from 12/23/2024 to 1/1/2025 inclusive.


Entrance fees

During the duration of a temporary exhibition, only a combined ticket for the special and temporary exhibition is offered!


Combined ticket (permanent and temporary exhibition): €8
Reduced combined ticket: €6 (students, trainees, people doing federal voluntary service), €5.50 (people with severe disabilities)
Combined ticket for groups of 10 or more: €7 per person


Children and young people (up to 18 years): Free admission
Group of schoolchildren and daycare centre: free admission (including accompanying persons)


The LVR Museum Card gives you free admission to the museums of the LVR and LWL for one year from the date of purchase.Admission to special exhibitions and events is not included.

Approx. 30 Meter in front of the entrance there is a marked parking space for persons with a disability. The path from the parking space to the entrance is easy to negotiate on foot and with mobility aids.

Directions with and without restricted mobility

When alighting from the bus travelling from the direction of “Solingen-Ohligs”:
  • Walk further in the direction of travel for approx. 50 metres.
  • Then walk to the right between the factory and the wooden garage approx. 50 m to the corner of the factory.
  • Finally walk left approx. 70 m to the museum entrance. Here there is a large glass porch.

When alighting from the bus travelling from the direction “Stadtmitte”:

  • Walk contrary to the direction of travel (left-hand side of road) approx. 70 metres (slightly uphill) up to the pedestrian crossing with a central island. The curb is lowered on both sides.
  • Cross the road there.
  • Continue in the direction of travel approx. 70 metres.
  • Then walk to the right between the factory and the wooden garage approx. 50 m to the corner of the factory.
  • Finally walk left approx. 70 m to the museum entrance. Here there is a large glass porch.
Note:
  • The path is easy to negotiate on foot and with mobility aids.
  • There are no steps or thresholds at the entrance to the main building.

Tickets for the Gesenkschmiede Hendrichs (Drop Forge) can be purchased at the site or in advance from our Ticketshop.

We are happy to loan you an audio-guide which will accompany you through the various stations of the exhibition.
