Entrance fees for permanent exhibition

Normal entrance fee: 3,50 €, reduced 3.00 € (Students, severely disabled persons, unemployed persons upon presentation of a welfare pass or another official document), groups from 10 persons 2.50 € pro Person

Combi-ticket valid for the permanent exhibition including Monument Trail and Temporary Exhibition: 6,50 €

Children and adolescents (up to 18 years): Entrance free

School classes (with up to 2 accompanying persons): Entrance free


Entrance-free day for everyone: 1st Friday in the month


Free admission for refugees

Refugees have free admission to the museums of the Landschaftsverband Rheinland. In this way, the LVR would like to help refugees learn about the history and culture of the Rhineland.

For free admission, an official certificate must be presented. Admission is also free for accompanying persons who care for refugees. (max. 2 persons per group)


The LVR-Museumskarte entitles you to free entrance to the LVR and LWL museums for one year as from the date of purchase.

Price for Guided Tours through the Power Plant (up to 25 persons):

Normal group guided tours for adults: 50 €
Normal group guided tours for children’s groups and school classes: 40 €
Guided tours in foreign languages (English): 55€

Dogs in the museum

Please note that dogs are not permitted in the museum. Assistance dogs are exempt from this.

  • Then continue in direction of Engelskirchen.
  • Then follow the signs to the museum.

There are approx. 60 free public parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the museum entrance.

With restricted mobility

There are also designated disabled parking spaces. These are however further away than the normal parking spaces. The disabled parking spaces are next to the local government building. (Address: Engels-Platz 4, 51766 Engelskirchen).

It is not recommended that persons in a wheelchair select this route.

Attention:

As it cannot be guaranteed that one can alight from and board the bus level with the ground, the route in not recommended for wheelchair users.

Description of way without restricted mobility

Follow this road until it meets “Märkische Straße”.

  • From the bus station take the road on the right “An der Post”.
  • Then turn right and follow this road.
  • After crossing the railway tracks continue a further approx. 30 metres on “Märkische Straße”.
  • Then take the path to the right between two buildings (Fire Brigade and Museum) and follow it to “Engels-Platz”.
  • The museum entrance is on the left.

Station Engelskirchen

On foot: approx. 300m

Line RB 25 (Köln – Meinerzhagen)

Description of path without restricted mobility
  • When leaving the station go straight on to the car park.
  • Then go right in the direction of the church.
  • After 50 metres turn left at the Protestant parish hall on to the “Märkische Straße”.
  • Go to the right along the “Märkischen Straße”
  • After crossing the railway tracks continue a further approx. 30 metres on “Märkischen Straße”.
  • Then take the path to the right between two buildings (Fire Brigade and Museum) and follow it to “Engels-Platz”.
  • The museum entrance is on the left.

Attention:

  • The station and the platforms are accessible.
  • The cobble-stones covering the entire Engels-Platz make the path uneven.
