The LVR Museum Card gives you free admission to the museums of the LVR and LWL for one year from the date of purchase.Admission to special exhibitions and special events is not included. An upgrade ticket for the special exhibition can be purchased for €2 at the ticket office.

Please note that dogs are not permitted in the museum. Assistance dogs are exempt from this.

There are approx. 60 free public parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the museum entrance.

With restricted mobility

There are also designated disabled parking spaces. These are however further away than the normal parking spaces. The disabled parking spaces are next to the local government building. (Address: Engels-Platz 4, 51766 Engelskirchen).

As it cannot be guaranteed that one can alight from and board the bus level with the ground, the route in not recommended for wheelchair users.

Description of way without restricted mobility

Follow this road until it meets “Märkische Straße”.

  • From the bus station take the road on the right “An der Post”.
  • Then turn right and follow this road.
  • After crossing the railway tracks continue a further approx. 30 metres on “Märkische Straße”.
  • Then take the path to the right between two buildings (Fire Brigade and Museum) and follow it to “Engels-Platz”.
  • The museum entrance is on the left.

Station Engelskirchen

On foot: approx. 300m

Line RB 25 (Köln – Meinerzhagen)

Description of path without restricted mobility
  • When leaving the station go straight on to the car park.
  • Then go right in the direction of the church.
  • After 50 metres turn left at the Protestant parish hall on to the “Märkische Straße”.
  • Go to the right along the “Märkischen Straße”
  • After crossing the railway tracks continue a further approx. 30 metres on “Märkischen Straße”.
  • Then take the path to the right between two buildings (Fire Brigade and Museum) and follow it to “Engels-Platz”.
  • The museum entrance is on the left.

Attention:

  • The station and the platforms are accessible.
  • The cobble-stones covering the entire Engels-Platz make the path uneven.
