Kraftwerk Ermen & Engels (Ermen & Engels Power Plant)

Unter Strom – Wasserkraft aus der Steckdose (With the current – Water power from the Plug Socket)

The outside of the cotton mill. You can see the sunlit entrance.

At first glance it seems as if time has stood still: the massive grey-wacke buildings of the former Kraftwerks Ermen & Engels (Ermen & Engels Power Plant) still surround the former factory courtyard. The steam engine house chimney also still exists. And across the rail tracks leading on to the courtyard from the nearby station a freight train with a delivery of raw cotton might arrive in front of the former cotton warehouse at any time.

However thread has no longer been spun here for a long time. Today the entire premises of the former cotton spinning mill and the Ermen & Engels Water Power Plant are now listed buildings.
