At the LVR-Industriemuseum Bergisch Gladbach visitors can try out a lot for themselves and see the machines in action. All guided tours and programmes are adjusted to the individual needs of school classes and groups of persons with learning disabilities. They are carried out in simple, comprehensible language. The guided tour lasts approx. 90 minutes. Some programmes are very activity-oriented and are therefore particularly suitable for persons with learning disabilities.

The guided tour costs 45 € plus 3.50 € per person for the reduced group entrance fee for severely disabled persons.

The programmes should be booked at least two weeks prior to the desired date if possible. Please contact us (Tel.: 02202-936680) so that we can discuss the specific requirements of your group.

Audio guides in simple language are also available at the museum.

The museum premises and the building do not have a guide system for blind persons. We therefore recommend that visually impaired and blind persons are accompanied. Assistance dogs are permitted.

There is an audio-guide with spoken texts. It is, however, necessary to be accompanied.

Persons without sight can make paper at the vat without any restrictions.

Upon request it is possible to book a guided tour for a group of visually impaired and blind persons. During these tours there is an opportunity to touch as many exhibits as possible. The guided tour lasts approx. 90 minutes. The tour costs 45 € plus 3.50 € per person reduced group entrance fee for severely disabled persons.

The programme should be booked at least two weeks prior to the desired date if possible.

There are several disabled parking spaces. If necessary it is possible to drive directly to the museum entrance by car. To do this a gate must be opened; assistance can be obtained via the bell and intercom system.

The public transport bus stop (bus number 426, bus stop “Dombach”) is at a distance of approx. 300 m from the museum.

On the premises the paths are made of cobblestones which may make it exhausting for persons with restricted mobility and wheelchair users. A disabled toilet is available.

The LVR-Industriemuseum Bergisch Gladbach is to a large extent accessible for persons with restricted mobility and wheelchair users despite the historic building fabric. In the main building there is a lift on all floors of the museum. In the historic building, however, some rooms can only be reached via steps. Unfortunately it is not possible to install ramps due to lack of space. It is, however, possible to look into the central rooms or negotiate them in a wheelchair. A loan wheelchair is available free of charge. There are seats available.

The temporary exhibition room is completeley accessible.
