Since the year 2000 the “Gesellschaft zur Förderung des LVR-Industriemuseums e. V.”
has supported the Zinkfabrik Altenberg (Zinc Factory), the Peter-Behrens-Bau (Repository and Exhibition Building) and the St. Antony-Hütte (Ironworks) in Oberhausen in the function of an association of friends. We regard it as our business to support the museums in presenting and communicating industrial history and industrial heritage. The association’s tasks are varied and extend from supporting exhibition projects to sponsoring publicity events right up to raising funds and material expenses for the museums. The association participates in museum events, supports the printing of brochures and establishes useful contacts; for example we became involved in the series “Zeitzeugengespräche” (Conversations with Contemporary Witnesses) to mark the 150th anniversary of the town of Oberhausen.
As a member of the association you have the opportunity to shape and sponsor the future of the Zinkfabrik Altenberg (Zinc Factory), the Peter-Behrens-Bau (Repository and Exhibition Building), the St. Antony-Hütte (Ironworks). You have free entrance to all the LVR-Industriemuseum sites and have the opportunity to take part in special programme offers. During excursions to companies and other events you will meet people from the region who are enthusiastic about culture and you can take advantage of a lively exchange of views.
