Bus stop “Händelstraße”

On foot: approx. 500m

Town bus No. 874 (Direction Kirchheim) weekdays and Saturdays

Route description with and without restricted mobility:

  • Get off the bus at the bus stop “Händelstraße”
  • From the bus stop walk straight along the path on the Kuchenheimer Straße in the direction in which the bus was travelling. Turn right into Schwarzer
  • Weg. At the end of the street keep left (Carl-Koenen-Straße) and immediately turn into Obere Burg.
  • The museum is visible at the end of the street.
Note:
  • The existing route is not optimal because there is no separate footpath in Schwarze Weg and Obere Burg. The road and the footpath are one and the same here. As a rule, however, there is little traffic along these two roads. It is possible to alight from and board the bus at ground level.

Station Kuchenheim

This route is not recommended for wheelchair users.

On foot: approx. 1.4km

Note: Unfortunately there is no good route for wheelchair users from the station to the museum. The available path is not at all or only to a limited extent suitable with restricted mobility due to the distance, the narrow sections and the inclines.

Directions without restricted mobility
  • Follow the Willi-Graf-Straße.
  • Turn right on to Lambertusstraße.
  • Then straightaway left into Kuchenheimer Markt (locally referred to as “Gässchen” ).
  • At the end of Kuchenheimer Markt turn right on to Kuchenheimer Straße (B56)
  • Shortly afterwards cross the state road at the Kuchenheimer Straße (B56).the pedestrian facility and continue right on the Kuchenheimer Straße.
  • Turn left at the car park and continue in the direction of the church.
  • Walk over two ramps to the church.
  • Pass the church and then follow the Schallenbergstraße.
  • At the end of the road turn right into Obere Burg.
  • Follow this road straight on to the end and then the museum is visible on the left-hand side.

Note: The Kuchenheimer Markt is purely a pedestrian path. Along the Obere Burg the road and the footpath are one and the same. However there is as a rule very little traffic.
