The disused platforms 4 and 5 at Oberhausen Main Station set this location in scene as the former trans-shipment site for heavy industry and present the history of the station and the importance of the railway in relation to industry and town. Impressive works of art and a historic train radiate in fascinating colours and colour sequences during the evening hours. Eye-catchers on the platform are a slag ladle car and a torpedo-type ladle car – two waggons which were on the move for many years serving heavy industry.
The Museum Platform is freely accessible during the opening hours of the main station.
